Mechanics:
Meetings may be in person or at a distance (via phone or Skype).
We start with an initial session of 2-3 hours to explore the landscape of your professional life. In preparation for this meeting, I will have you complete a questionnaire. During the meeting, we will go through the questionnaire together and do a number of exercises. The intention of the meeting is to
- identify your goals for the coaching relationship,
- define how the coaching relationship will work,
- start to identify your professional goals, visions and obstacles
Then we will set up regular 45 minute – 1 hour sessions (generally, once every two weeks). During these meetings, I will follow up on any homework agreed to at our last session and ask you what you want to work on for that session. We will take it from there focusing our work on the topics you choose while connecting them to your longer term goals. The length of a typical coaching relationship is 6-9 months (although this is not cast in concrete).
My commitment to you is to…
- focus my business and personal experience as well as coaching tools and techniques on your goals
- bring my passion for helping others and sharing best practices to all our sessions
- be a benevolent, honest and direct source of feedback
- be a non-judgmental listener
- share my opinions when asked to
- stay focused on your long term goals
The commitment I ask of my clients is…
- open and honest communication
- focus on the work during sessions
- a 4-6 month commitment to work together
