Gina Barnett, an international communications consultant and TED speaker coach, has some great suggestions for successful public speaking in this blog entry. I would add that your mind can only focus on one thing at a time.  If you stay 100% focused on the points you want to make, there will not be as much room for nervousness. (And when your mind wanders to nervousness, go back to the main points you want to convey.)  It is helpful to find a stable and comfortable stance. I don’t mean you are planted and can’t move.  Intentional movement can be effective.  Happy speaking!
