I help organizations create their own internal mentor programs using senior staff to mentor targeted employees.

I can provide the structure, best practices, training and support to create and administer an executive sponsored mentor program.

My approach

My approach is to meet with the stakeholders to understand their specific needs and develop a high-level plan for the mentoring program based on input from the key stakeholders.

That plan would include:

  • goals of the mentoring program
  • best practice checklist
  • the stakeholders and their roles and responsibilities
  • the target populations for mentors and mentees
  • recruitment process for mentors and mentees
  • general operating procedures for the program (recommendations for length of mentoring cycle, mentor-mentee matching criteria, development plans and feedback forms)
  • criteria for success
  • communication plans
  • training plans for program participants

The plan would be developed in concert with the client, based on stakeholder meetings and is expected to have multiple iterations. Once a high-level plan is agreed to, more detailed planning would need to be done by all stakeholders (or I could help with this). The implementation of the program could be done internally or with my assistance.
